Start with guns first!

It looks like every day somebody goes nuts in this country, and kills a few before committing suicide. Yesterday alone there were two such incidents. The day before, one man went crazy and killed 13 people in New York. Today, President Obama gave a terrific speech in Europe about his goal of nuclear free world. When will he get the courage to propose the banning of guns in USA?

Pitchforks are going to come out!

The newspapers and T.V. here in USA, are giddy with news stories about the warm reception of President Barrack Obama and wife Michelle in Europe, and the rise of the stock market which has posted gains the last four consecutive weeks. The only discord in this happy music is the latest unemployment report showing that another 663,000 people have lost their jobs in March, and that of a mass shooting in New York by some frustrated unemployed person. The roaring approval ratings of Obama, and the rise in stock values do not help the jobless. Unlike it is in Europe, there is no strong social services network here to take care of the needy. In one split second, anyone can be let go or be fired from the job (another American trait!). As most of the Amercians live from paycheck to paycheck with no savings, complete financial ruin and being out in the street homeless is a matter of few weeks for the jobless. I feel that there is frustration and desperation rapidly brewing in this country, which will start exploding here and there as it is happening now. The only hope is that President Obama's new economic policies will soon create jobs for the millions. I wonder how realistic it is.

Ticket to India, anyone?
