The gang who cannot shoot straight

I am least surprised to hear that British social worker, Linda Norgove was possibly killed by the U.S. Army in their rescue effort. The American military simply does not have the skills required for a rescue mission like patience, negotiation skills, agility to regroup etc. All they know is how to use powerful weapons for mass killing (their indiscriminate drone attack is a good example). I will never want an American rescue mission to come to my rescue. It is as good as being dead!

Cut your nose to spite the face!

In less than five weeks there will be the mid-term elections for the U.S. Congress. Polls are predicting sweeping victories for the Republican Party with a good chance of them taking over the Congress back again. The reason? People are angry that the economy did not improve fast enough for them during the eighteen plus months under the Obama administration with Democrats in control of the Congress. So, they are going to vote ‘the bums out’ -- which means vote Republicans, or stay home without voting. It does not matter that the Republican Party policies are the same as the ones which resulted in the economic collapse of this country under the Bush administration. It does not matter that the government will come to a gridlock with Republicans blocking everything President Obama wants to do, so that he will lose in 2012. It does not matter that during the short time since coming to the office President Obama has accomplished a lot for the struggling middle class with better health care, financial regulations so on. All they want now is to express their frustration!
