A nation of paranoids!

I cannot understand the fear about the Guantanamo Bay detainees being moved to United States. People are afraid that the detainees will break out of the jail, and incite new terrorist activities in the country! How realistic is that? The world’s only superpower cannot guard her high security prisoners? Come to think of it, this acute paranoia of Americans gets more obvious when you travel outside the country. The airports abroad do not fuss about checking your shoes and nail clippers! ‘You cannot carry water in the plane’ is another absurd restriction imposed as a knee jerk reaction to a trumped up terrorist plan in Great Britain (the technique of making explosives by mixing liquids in the plane is simply a concept on paper, which nobody has verified!) Hate to say it. Americans are easily frightened.

The Death Knell

Something tells me that the recent tightening in Pakistan against Taliban, with strong USA backing, is the death knell of the fugitive Osama Bin Laden and team. It is only a matter of weeks before they are captured or killed.

Give up your desire, to relax!

I am amazed at the way people drive in India. The concept of driving within your lane is unheard of there. Everyone cuts through, and overtakes each other with the thinnest margin of error imaginable. Right from the morning there is a never ending flow of screaming cars, buses and trucks each trying outsmart the other. Like my American friend said, you can relax in Indian traffic only if you give up your desire to see the vehicle which kills you. Still there are only few traffic accidents. Like the Mumbai Dabbawalas who miss only one out of six million deliveries, Indian traffic moves on!
