Reunion thoughts

I just returned from attending a 50 year class reunion at my college in India. It was a well organized affair enjoyable in many aspects. Here are my notes and observations.

1. It is an eerie experience to be at a function where everyone is past their mid sixties. Except for one or two, nobody has any resemblance to how they looked fifty years ago. The girl I had a crush on, looks like the grandma she is now. An okay looking girl of the olden times, is quite attractive now with her carefully kept ‘figure’ draped in an expensive ‘sari’.

2. Once you get over the shock of how old looking everyone is, conversations are easy and not forced. It is as if we are back in school again after a long summer break. Many are sincerely happy to meet me again, and I feel the same. Except for one or two, the best friends in my life have all been from my school days. Wonder if this is the case with most men?
